I want to take this opportunity to tell you about myself. I am married and have two children, ages 18 and 23. I am a graduate of Baylor University (Sic'em Bears!) with a degree in Business Administration. I received a Master of Science Degree in reading from Texas A & M University-Commerce. I am certified in Elementary Education to teach K-8 , certified in English as a Second Language (Grades EC-12), and certified in Technology Applications (Grades EC-12.) This is my 26th year to teach school, all at Sunnyvale I.S.D.

Technology Integration:This year I will be helping teachers integrate technology into the core curriculum. The students will be exposed to websites, apps, and innovative devices to help them create, produce, problem solve and collaborate with each other. Group Solutions, from the Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) program, features activities with a cooperative format as it explores distinct mathematical content and focuses logical thinking skills in new ways.Group Solutions is a great way to bring essential mathematics concepts and skills to all students. There is evidence that cooperative logic challenges are extremely effective in introducing and strengthening math concepts and developing thinking processes basic to math and science. Students learn that there are many ways to approach a problem and discover that some problems have multiple solutions.The Group Solutions activities move beyond the textbook and challenge students to reason, make deductions and form conclusions. In a group, students are able to succeed at higher level thinking tasks that are beyond their capacities as individuals. Exciting and innovative challenges bring cooperative problem solving to life!
