Mrs. Anastasia Armstreet

My name is Anastasia Armstreet and I will be teaching Dual Credit Biology, Forensics, and IPC at Sunnyvale High School.

I will be entering my 9th year of teaching.  This will be my 6th at Sunnyvale HS.
am certified in 8-12 Science.
I serve as the science department chair, UIL Science and Number Sense sponsor, and a HOSA "helper."
I have attended trainings and completed coursework specifically targeted for: Engaged Learning Model, Varied Assessments, Differentiated Instructional Techniques, Project Based Learning, Educational Action-Research, Technology Integration, Secondary Curriculum and Teaching Models, Science Instructional Methods, and more!
I enjoy constantly learning about new instructional tools and techniques!

I am married to Jeremy Armstreet, a teacher/coach at Mesquite Horn HS.
We have a daughter named Landry who turned 5 in April and will be in Kindergarten, and a son Daxton who turned 3 in June.
Our family has a strong background in education: my mom has taught for over 25 years, my dad taught for a few years after a career in the IT industry, my sister is in the beginnings of her teaching/coaching career, and my husband's family consists of 12 fellow educators!
I grew up in Grand Saline, Texas and attended Grand Saline ISD grades K-12.
I graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine from Austin College.
I have two Master's degrees from TAMU-Commerce: Secondary Education Biological Sciences and Curriculum & Instruction.
I am looking forward to another year at Sunnyvale ISD with amazing students, faculty, and community members.
I like dark chocolate, diet coke, and pretzels of all kinds!
I cannot stand June bugs or grasshoppers (their "sticky" legs creep me out)!
I enjoy music, reading, and Netflix binges!
I am terrified of the dark!
My favorite students are the ones who try their best, ask questions, and never give up!
My pet peeves are whining/complaining, giving up, or saying "I can't" before ever trying!
I love making memories with my family and my students! :)
