Sunnyvale is once again co-hosting the upcoming Connecting the Dots Expo - East, in conjunction with a few other local school districts. In the past, this event has been geared specifically to students who receive special education services, but this year it has changed to encompass a new group of students who could also benefit from this FREE useful information.
504 now has a specific breakout session titled, "504 from Here to There," along with a session on, "Disability Services at College." The speakers are experts in these fields who will be available to discuss and answer parent and student questions. There is also a session on, "Continuum of Guardianship," which has become a hot topic lately with multiple avenues of options for our students who need support after they become an adult.
PLEASE help me communicate this vital information with your parents! I have attached flyers for the come and go event along with the times for each breakout session. So many parents end up saying they wish they had known about these options earlier. I want the parents in SISD to be equipped with the knowledge of all the services available to their child free of charge.
The next Connecting the Dots Expo East is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 3rd from 10:00am-2:00pm at Utley Middle School in Rockwall. Mark you calendars for this worthwhile event!!
