Howdy! My name is Maegan Cook and I am a proud member of the fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2013! I have a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. The 2017-2018 school year will be my second year to teach at Sunnyale HS; however, I spent three years teaching freshman English I and Pre-AP English I at Dr. Ralph H. Poteet HS in Mesquite, TX. I am very excited to work with the freshman at Sunnyvale HS this coming school year and look forward to all of the exciting things we will be learning in English I and Honors English I! Tutoring Times: Tuesday and Thursday before school from 7:20 - 7:40 and after school from 3:25 - 3:55. Kids should have a pass in order to come to activity period tutorials unless they are scheduled to have me for activity period.
Weekly Class Objectives: Sept. 18 - 22Honors: Annotated Bibliography due Monday! Students will begin writing thier research papers using the information they learned from the annotated bibliography. A final copy of the research paper will be due on September 26 via Google Classroom. The Odyssey should be completely read by September 29.English I: Read the Odyssey Books 10-12. Research a real life hero and compare this hero's life to the stages of the hero's journey. The final product for student research will be a paper.
