Barking up the RIGHT Tree!

target 2 Sunnyvale Middle School is excited to share the great news!

We are now enrolled in Target’s Take Charge of Education Program.
This is an easy way to help us raise money for our school and the best part is, it won’t cost you a penny!

Many of you already shop at Target, so you are more than halfway there! If you have a Target REDcard, Target Debit card or a Target Visa card, visit to designate Sunnyvale Middle School with our school ID # 145745. You can also call 1-800-316-6142 and link SMS over the phone.

Then simply use your Target card whenever you shop at Target and SMS will receive 1% of your purchases back to our school! It is really very simple and once you link your card to SMS, there is nothing more to do. Plus you will continue to save 5% off your total purchase every time you shop at Target using your card.

The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school so get your family and friends to enroll too!

Got Game? Prove It!

Dig out all those Box Tops from your kitchen pantry and drawers. It’s time to show us what you got!

Did you know each Box Top is worth a dime? They all add up. This year’s goal is 10,000 Box Tops or $1,000 to help show appreciation to our SMS staff.

This contest will be run in two rounds. The grade with the highest count after both rounds will celebrate with a party in the Spring compliments of your SMS PTA.

Round #1 deadline to submit Box Tops is Friday, October 24th. Don’t forget to include your name/grade/homeroom teacher with your submission.

Game On!

Do Hard Things
Students from Sunnyvale Middle School are carrying on the Do Hard Things tradition that was started 6 years ago by a group of Sunnyvale students who just graduated last spring.

DHT is a student-led group that challenges students to make a difference by doing:

1. Things that are outside your comfort zone.

2. Things that go beyond what is expected or required

3. Things that are too big to accomplish alone

4.  Things that don't earn an immediate payoff

5.  Things that challenge the cultural norm.

To sign up, please print and fill out the Do Hard Things form here, and return your completed form to the SMS front office.
