Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Candice Stout
I am delighted to serve as the music teacher for all Kindergarten-4th grade students at Sunnyvale Elementary. This marks my 2nd year at Sunnyvale Elementary and my 16th year teaching elementary music.
I am a southern girl. I was born in Alabama, grew up in Texas, and attended Plano schools before moving to a deer ranch in Eastern Oklahoma during my years at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I met my husband while working at a steakhouse in Denison, Texas. We married and headed out on an adventure to the moutains and snow of Colorado for an amazing 13 years. With the births of 2 nieces and 2 nephews near Dallas, we left our snow shovels behind and are happy to be back home in Texas and near our families.
Before we moved home to Texas, I worked as a music teacher of Kindergarten-5th grade students near Denver, Colorado and Pre-K through 5th grade students, as well as a French horn private lesson instructor in Southern Oklahoma. It is my grand hope that when a child leaves my room, they will be filled with the inspiration of a world where people, objects, and sounds work together to create a greater harmony than what could be achieved alone.
When not making music with my students, I love to read, travel with my husband and family, paper craft cards and scrapbooks, try my hand at homemade jewelry, and many other crafts.
