    Social Studies

    The program shall:

    -provide students the opportunity to enhance individual reflection and growth and prepare them to be problem solvers in an ever-changing world.

    -provide students with opportunities to utilize 21st-century skills, specifically: critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity. 

    -prepare students for the responsibilities that are inherent in citizenship and help them become participating members of our community, state, country, and world.

    -ensure that students are self-aware and knowledgeable about human and social behavior.

    Students shall:

    -demonstrate knowledge of social studies through an understanding of history and how societies adapt to and modify geographic, political, social, and economic systems.

    -develop an understanding of the diversity of human cultures.

    -apply knowledge and skills across various other disciplines.
