I spent 8 years as the Sunnyvale Elementary Principal, so I miss seeing the sweet smiles and hugs of the little ones everyday but as Director of Assessment and Accountability, I have the opportunity to watch them as they grow into young adults as now I have the opportunity to work at all three campuses.
With over 27 years of experience in Education ranging from 3rd through 8th grades as a classroom teacher, in two different districts, as well as Elementary Principal, I know how important education is and having your kids at the perfect school. As a Sunnyvale graduate myself, I truly understand what it means to be a Raider. I consider it a privilege to be working in a district that has meant so much to me and to my family.
My husband, Troy, and I are the parents of three Sunnyvale alumni; our youngest, Trevor, is a Senior at Stephen F. Austin. Our oldest, Tanner, was in the second graduating class from Sunnyvale High School and is married to his wife Jill, who is a speech pathologist in Mesquite ISD. They were blessed with a daughter in July 2019 and their second daughter will arrive in October of 2021. Our middle child, Taryn, who graduated from SHS and then from A&M, is married and had their first child in March of 2021. Being a grandparent has continued to help me focus on the importance of keeping our students' best interest as a priority. Please let me know how I can help or answer any questions.
