Welcome to Mrs. Wolston's 7th grade Texas History classes at Sunnyvale Middle School!  I am excited about teaching your child and look forward to a teacher and parent partnership that will help each student have a productive year.  My teaching philosophy is that all students can learn. I care about my students and want them to be successful.  As a teacher, I strive to be a positive influence in the lives of my students and help them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing an interest in history.  I am a huge proponent of technology, discussion, and engagement in the classroom.  

As a Sunnyvale ISD Alumni, I attended Kindergarten through 8th grade in this incredible district and graduated 7th in my 1994 graduating class at Poteet High School in Mesquite ISD.  I attended Southern Methodist University on an academic scholarship and graduated Cum Laude in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Minor in English.

My career in education began in 1998 at Berry Middle School in Mesquite ISD as a 7th grade Texas History teacher where I taught for 22 years.  My lifetime certification is in Secondary History Grades 6-12, and I am Academically Talented Certified.  My biggest career award highlight was being named the "2012 Texas History Teacher of the Year" for the entire state of Texas.  I joined Sunnyvale ISD in 2020.  This school year begins my 25th year in education, and I am looking forward to teaching your Raider student.  

On a personal note, my husband and I celebrated our 24th Anniversary this past June.  We moved to Sunnyvale in 2000 and know firsthand how great this town is.  We have two boys, Brady and Blake, who attend Sunnyvale High School and Sunnyvale Middle School and bring us much joy and pride.  They both really love baseball.  When they are not playing the game, we are usually watching baseball somewhere.  Our two fur babies, Max and Marley, complete our family.  We love to travel and have been blessed to be able to make many memories.  I love the outdoors and enjoy time at the lake, fishing, jogging, gardening, and crafting.  I am very driven to try new things and succeed.
