Dear Parents,

Let me begin with a great big WELCOME to KINDERGARTEN!!!

As we begin this new school year let me share with you how happy I am to have your child as a part of my class.  My class quickly becomes like family to me!  We will spend lots of time together this year. We will be discovering many things about ourselves, others, and the world around us!  I am looking forward to a fantastic year in kindergarten!

I will get the opportunity to learn lots about your child as the year progresses.  So let me take a moment to share a little bit about myself.  I am a graduate of Texas A&M University – Commerce.  I have my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood and a master’s degree in Reading.  I began my teaching career in Mesquite ISD in 1997.  I enjoyed teaching many different grade levels during my time in Mesquite, however I quickly learned that Kindergarten was my favorite.  I moved to Sunnyvale ISD in 2010 where I have always taught Kindergarten,  I am happily married to my husband Chris, who is a firefighter in Mesquite.  We have three wonderful children that keep us very busy.  Cole is in college at Tarleton State University, Chloe is at Texas A&M University in College Station, and Corlee will be a freshman at SHS! 

I absolutely LOVE teaching and I value all of my students as if they were my own.  I am looking forward to a great year with all of my students and their families.  Your support greatly affects your child’s learning and success in kindergarten!!!
