Sunnyvale ISD is pleased to announce Byron Bryant as the new Chief Financial Officer for SISD.
Bryant brings nearly two decades in school finance, most recently serving as the CFO for Royse City ISD since 2018. In that role, he directed the annual operating budget, oversaw three bond programs, and consistently earned a “Superior Achievement” rating under the Texas Education Agency’s Financial Integrity Rating System.
“Sunnyvale ISD is known for providing outstanding experiences for students. I’m honored to join the staff family and work to ensure district resources are directed effectively, revenue is maximized, and every dollar is spent efficiently,” Bryant said. “My primary goal is to engage with students, staff, and leadership to identify shared priorities.”
Bryant’s extensive background also includes finance roles in Allen, Rockwall, and Red Oak ISDs. He first entered school finance in 2008 as a staff accountant and steadily advanced to the chief financial officer role.
Currently a member of the Texas Association of School Business Officials’ (TASBO) Board of Directors, Bryant will step into the role of TASBO President in February 2027.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University and is a certified public accountant. Under his leadership, his former business office earned multiple industry honors, including the Purchasing Award of Merit, the Excellence in Financial Management Award, and the Meritorious Budget Award.
Outside of work, Bryant enjoys spending time with his wife, Adi, and their two children. Their daughter Ryder, who is involved in cheer, volleyball and tennis, will join Sunnyvale High School as a freshman this fall. Their son Jim, a baseball player, golfer and Dallas Stars fan, will begin fifth grade in August at Sunnyvale Intermediate.
Bryant will officially transition into the role of Sunnyvale Chief Financial Officer on July 1, 2026.
