Morning Drop-Off Reminders!

SIS Parents,

To help ensure student safety during morning arrival, staff members are stationed to assist students crossing from the drop-off area to the gym between 7:20–7:45 a.m.

Please note that the outer drop-off lane closes at 7:40 a.m. so staff members can transition to their next assigned duties by 7:45.

If you arrive after 7:40 a.m., please use the inner lane only. Staff supervision in the outer lane ends at 7:40, and students should not cross traffic lanes without adult assistance.

Additionally, students arriving after 7:45 a.m. will need to enter through the front entrance, as the gym doors will be locked at that time.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us keep all students safe during arrival each morning.

May 6 is National Nurses Day! Today we celebrate the incredible SISD nurses who care for our students, staff, and families every day. From scraped knees and sudden illnesses to true emergencies, thank you to our nurses for keeping our school community healthy and safe.

May 5, 2026
Today, Sunnyvale Intermediate School briefly went into a lockdown after a student injury on the playground.
There was no threat to students or staff at any time. However, a staff member activated their emergency badge multiple times, which automatically alerted 911 and prompted emergency response personnel to arrive on campus.

Local law enforcement responded quickly, confirmed there was no danger, and the campus resumed normal operations shortly afterward.

We understand that any lockdown can be concerning, and we want to reassure you that student safety is always our top priority. We are reviewing procedures with staff to ensure clear communication and appropriate use of emergency systems moving forward.

Reminder: Due to our district-wide campus closure on April 9 to celebrate our Girls Soccer team advancing to the state tournament, our calendar has been adjusted. Friday, May 1, which was previously scheduled as a non-school prep day, is now a full instructional day .
