This showcase features a variety of songs that reflect their musical journey so far this year—with singing, instruments, and creative movement. They are using the book “Maybe” by Kobi Yamada as inspiration for the program.

Transportation Update Nov. 4 - https://secure.smore.com/n/tsm1kg
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, third graders at SIS participated in Thirdville, a special tradition where students learn about voting by holding their own mock election. Some students participated as mayoral candidates, while others embraced their roles as citizens. After placing their votes, they proudly wore their "I Voted" stickers. Thirdville gives our students a chance to experience the democratic process firsthand and see why every vote counts. Way to go, future voters!

November is Native American Heritage Month, a tradition that began with various states honoring Native peoples in the early 1900s and became a month-long national observance in 1990. It’s a time to learn about, honor, and celebrate the stories, cultures, and contributions of the first Americans.

November 3 is Father of Texas Day! On this date, we celebrate Stephen F. Austin, whose vision and leadership brought the first American settlers to Texas, earning him the lasting title “Father of Texas.” Across our state, his legacy lives on in names of parks, colleges and universities, our capital city, and so much more.
