🎉Today we proudly celebrated Sunnyvale ISD’s Teachers of the Year, SMS teacher Melissa Walker and SIS teacher Karla Watson, at the Region 10 Teacher of the Year event held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. It was a fantastic way to honor their dedication to and care for their students as well as their passion for education. Thank you both for making such a positive impact on students and staff in SISD! Beginning August 13, 2025, students will not be allowed to use personal communication devices during the instructional day, from the first bell to the last bell. All personal devices must be turned off and put away.
This update follows Texas House Bill 1481, which requires school districts to adopt a policy prohibiting student use of personal communication devices during the school day.

📝Need help with Parent Portal and back to school forms? The Parent Portal Support Squad is here to help! Stop by the SMS cafeteria on August 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to get help with completing the annual SISD school registration forms. All forms must be completed in order to access student schedules at Rowdy's Reunion. You will also have access to assistance with general Parent Portal and proof of residency questions.

Back-to-School forms are expected to be available on Tuesday, July 29 in the parent portal, pending final board approval of the SISD Student Handbook and Code of Conduct at the Monday, July 28 board meeting.

Our parent groups and booster clubs are what make SISD the special place that it is. We need YOU to join our groups and be a part of the effort! Please stop by each of our booths and find a group that speaks to your servant's heart - from PTA to our education foundation! We need YOUR support!
📝SES and SIS Students Will Learn Who Their Teachers Are On This Night, Too!
SES and SIS Students will visit their home campus at 5:00 p.m. - and ending promptly at 6:00 p.m. - to obtain their teacher information and then join the rest of the district at the high school for all the fun at Rowdy's Reunion.
PLEASE NOTE: In order for students to pick up their schedules, ALL ONLINE FORMS must be completed.

The newly passed Texas House Bill 1481 prohibits students from using personal electronic communication devices at any time during the school day - both instructional and non-instructional periods - while on school property. This law will take effect on September 1, 2025, and applies to all Texas public schools.
