Law Enforcement Appreciation Day - Jan. 9
January is Texas School Board Appreciation Month, and this year’s theme, Our Future is Public, celebrates the vital role our public schools play in shaping the next generation. Throughout the month, we will be sharing advice from, fun facts about, and insights into the individual members of our SISD Board of Trustees.

Today, we’re excited to highlight SISD Board of Trustees member Mrs. Lee Mathew and share why public schools matter to her.

Does your child ever struggle with staying organized, following through on tasks, or managing time? These challenges are often related to executive functioning — the brain’s “management system,” which helps us plan, focus, remember instructions, and regulate actions to reach goals.

Join us on Wednesday, January 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the SISD Boardroom for a parent training led by Lindsey Nikaidoh. Designed for parents of students of all ages, this session will provide realistic, low-stress strategies to support executive functioning at home — strategies that fit naturally into busy family routines.

Come learn practical ways to help your child strengthen these essential life skills in a supportive, encouraging environment.

For questions, please contact Brittany Dlabaj, Director of Special Programs at brittany.dlabaj@sunnyvaleisd.com.

January is School Board Recognition Month, and Sunnyvale ISD is honored to celebrate our trustees for the countless ways they champion students, staff, and public education. Our Future Is Public is more than this year’s theme; it reflects the daily work of our board as they help ensure that every Raider has access to excellent learning opportunities.

Sunnyvale ISD Superintendent Matt Kimball shared that "their service is a powerful reminder that strong public schools are at the heart of a strong community.”

SISD’s Board of Trustees:
Brad Cravens, President
Linda Gooch, Vice President
Michael Threet, Secretary
Ben Wright
Dr. Pollye Hunter, PT, DPT
Kelleyton Wilson, Sr.
Lee Mathew, RN, MSN, MBA, NEA-BC

Thank you, trustees, for your unwavering service to Sunnyvale ISD. Our future is public, and we are so proud that you are Raiders!
